Very true.
Improving the motor is easy to prove quantitatively(e.g. dyno graph). Its much harder to do with suspension, partially because at a fine level it really maters who is driving, and how you drive. Harder mounts, and other changes that increase the rigidity suspension or change the alignment under force are even suspect now that the original automotive engineers have simulators that can model the deformation of individual parts.
edit: What I'm trying to say is if you want to make it lower and stiffer BECAUSE RACECAR go for it. But you can't say everything is empirically better just because it's lower and stiffer(twss).
