Oh, to clarify, I was talking about a roots-type blower. Centrifugal blowers make peak boost even later than turbos (although they have a higher potnetial top end).
If I had to pick one, I'd pick a slightly oversized roots over either a centrifugal S/C or turbo (although a twin turbo set-up would also be nice).
Of course, whoever said twin charging (I assume meaning roots S/C + big turbine)definitely has the right idea -- the best of both worlds!
