I would say get the wrx hatch, 2011 or newer, and plan on the kartboy shifter bushing kit. The stock shifter bushings are a little too rubbery, but that fixes it right up.

If the frs has made you long for power, there's your answer. The snow tires are going to be hideously expensive on 18"wheels though

Also expect to average maybe 21 mpg from the Rex, sadly.
