@ truenosan: bwahaha, I noticed that my TPMS keeps picking up the signal from my summer tires (sitting on a rack in my garage) too... glad I haven't needed the electrical tape (yet!).
@ Frsjai: I ended up getting the Koenig/Hankook 16" package from the guys @ Overseas Auto on Main (4th or 6th Ave), from their CL post. They were pretty good to deal with, so while I wonder if I could have gotten a better deal, I'm at least happy with the tires for now.
