That is not the EGR system. Itīs the air pump, most likely.

The air that is pumped by the air pump goes into the EXHAUST manifold to help complete the combustion of unburned gases during the warm up phase. This improves catalytic converter efficiency at a time when exhaust gases are quite rich. After the engine has done its initial warm up, the secondary air injection system stops working. Since it's part of the emissions system of the engine, it is monitored by the ECU.


Thanks for that pic fax0815 and Tyandriel. I hope the chassis braces are production-based and not just part of the cage used for the VLN race. It could mean they actually took chassis rigidity seriously.
