Did mine as suggested by OP (just a tad under the brake). Night and day in terms of how much easier it is to find the bite point. Hill starting like a baws now

EDIT: oh yeah its a bit harder to screw the bolt back on in our RHD 86s as the rod is directly connected to the clutch, not through the rotating arm, and as a result there is a lot of shit that prevents you from properly getting a wrench on it - had to temporarily remove the white stopper grommet and use a short wrench in order to secure it properly.
