That being said, every vehicle I've driven since 2006 has had tint on the front side windows. Never been pulled over for it. No tickets for other reasons though too.
My current car has lighter tint on the front than the rest of the car. I think I've got 35% on the driver / passenger windows. And 20% on the rest of the car, excluding the windshield of course.

I've received 2 in the past year for 30% tint all around, one while pulled over speeding, one they just had a check stop (should've just rolled down my window oh well) but before that none in the other 6 years of driving

There's no rule saying were allowed 10% over... its just up to the officer how much of a **** he wants to be. Photo radar is usually set about ~10km over but there's no magic number they have to use.
