And I was using "Ricer" to define the drivers of the Japanese imports. Our ages ranged from 58 (me) down to around 19. MY point is that there are jerk gearheads from every genre of automobile enthusiast. Movies may pique the interest in a certain type of car or scene for a while but it will only influence a small percentage of jerks who already exist to do stupid stuff and damage the reputation of the group as a whole.
I am not concerned about the BRZ being in F&F and getting a bad rep. I am more concerned about the car getting stuck on the high insurance rate list due to the lack of driving experience of many people who purchase this car. That is especially the case when it seems the majority of young people that buy this car have never driven a RWD car before.
I will go see F&F and enjoy it for what is is: Cars and over the top stylized special effects meant to entertain.
