Just saw this thread.
I had the smell too, only comes under WOT.
When you are at WOT and higher RPM your A/C switches off so you get all the power out of the motor.
This is kind of annoying on a 40deg day (105 Fahrenheit) and the interior has yet to cool down. (my DBW controller helped)
Anyway, the smell comes from the A/C switching off and then back on again. The smell in mine has gone now after 10,000km (work it out yourself's)
Also, the clutch did smell when new, first few days of driving it was really bad every time i took off, but that went quickly.
