Anyone care to look into what the rules are for the classes? It's kind of silly to say that the S2k will eat its lunch if there is balancing in the regs...
Also team history etc... The Toyota team is basically a back-door works team against what may be a bunch of privateers.
Issues like this can bring a bit more perspective to the results. Subaru PR likes to take advantage of this. They placed a heavily modded (by Cosworth) STI in a hillclimb, and slapped around a bunch of supercars with a pro driver. But no-one looked into the mods done to place it in the same class as those supercars (Ariel Atom V8, Lambos, etc...), especially when there was a lower class that looked more suitable (other rally-type cars).
If the FT86 is in the same class as an S2K it isn't the underdog. Still means good things for us, though!
Also no-one brought up that BBS were an option (standard?) on STIs.
