I have an opportunity to purchase snow tires very cheaply. I have searched google, other forums, as well as here on FT86.
The tire in questions are brand new General Altimax with steel wheels off of an Outback. They are being offered for 100$ and I am sweating trying to make sure they will fit.
My only concern is the height of the tires. They are 215/60/16. The 60 scares me especially because I am unaware of the offset. The Miata tire calculator suggests they will be 1.3 inches taller, and the radius will increase by .08 inches.
Does anyone think I may rub with a tire this tall? I know the handling and the speedometer will suffer, however, for my use, the added tire height will serve me well in mud season as well as snow season up in Maine.
