I'm glad someone asked about this cause I found it a bit odd as well. Perhaps they figure that Canadian winter is harder on the oil and thus shortened the interval.

Looking at the service schedule that was given to me when I got the car it continues on 8000km intervals but every other one after 24000kms is just listed as "Maintenance Service - Synthetic 0W20" while the 24000km service and the odd ones after that are listed as "Oil and Filter Service - Synthetic 0W20". Am I to take that as replace the filter every 16000km but the oil every 8000km?

Personally I am thinking that I will adhere to the 8000km OCI for the first couple and switch to the oil that I'm intending to use long-term and run a Blackstone labs analysis to determine for sure that I can stretch it out. I'd like to end up at 10,000 km intervals. Easy to remember.
