Guys, I actually think there will be a possible weight-savings w/ lighter rotors. I did some math--hope this helps some of you...
The stock front calipers & caliper brackets are 11.6lbs--the STi caliper is 8.7. So, if you can find a rotor lighter than the stock 86 rotors 17lbs(Girodiscs are 16.5lbs), there'd be an overall weight-savings of abt 3.4lbs/corner.
On the rears, the STi calipers are 5.9lbs, compared to 5.8lbs stock--so a push, there. But the rotors would net you just over 2lbs/corner.
Total drop in rotational/unprung ~11lbs--not bad.
Granted, it's definitely pricier, but if you can come across all the parts used & priced right... Just throwing it out there.
