Good question....in my case the replacement jdm badges came ready to peel and stick.
Fyi....its pretty hard to screw up the placement of the pistons as there are 2 pegs on the reverse of the badge that line up with corresponding holes in the fender garnish.

Oh. I was thinking of pulling them and painting them. In this case they may have to be painted on the car haha
