Zorro,
I would take it in and have them address the issues. If it happens again, take it back again. At least then, you can start talking lemon with them. This is why we have factory warantees.

The BMW n54 engines (x35 cars) had a lot of issues with HPFPs. The 135 I had was on its 3rd pump when I got rid of it. I put a small camera in the glove box. When I would see the signs of an issue, I recorded it with the camera. when I took it in I could show them the issue, vs waiting for them to find/see it. BMW did decide to warantee the HPFP for 10 years. Not the greatest answer, but at least I knew I was covered over the time I expected to own the car.

I have more belief that Subaru/Toyota will find more permanent fixes, than BMW did.

I am sorry to hear about the issues you are having. I had a lot of issues with the 135. But, as soon as I got in and drove it I would forget about them all. I got rid of the car, because Chapman BMW pissed me off.
