I don't know how they compare. But I do know that RX-8 seats rate above average.

And it is cheaper for an OEM to offer a decent seat from the factory instead of needing to buy one for a brand new car from the aftermarket and probably getting a lower grade seat. Seats are one of those things that you don't want to cheap out on. They need to be sturdy in a crash and cheap aftermarket seats won't work.

I think if you're a Giant meatbag (as opposed to a small one) you probably need to buy a different seat that is more comfortable for you anyway . The best us giant folk can hope is for two sizes, instead of seats with more range of adjustability which would therefore be heavier and more expensive.
