Interesting advice. I've autoxed for years and never competed on a track that tested the brakes in any sort of manner. Most of your speed is scrubbed off by your tires. Unless you're in a very heavy car I can't imagine the brakes being too hot to engage the parking brake. Then again there's nothing wrong with being overly cautious.
