Ok so i measured the wheel PCD on the FT-86 II concept and to my amazement it came out perfectly to 5x100.
so why is this relevant? because it has production implications. this concept has one off wheels. they could've used whatever they wanted, but they used a 5x100 hub. hmmm... its also not the same hub as the BRZ because that hub has the calipers behind the axle. the BRZ most likely uses an off the shelf WRX hub in the display. the FT II does not because the caliper is in front of the axle.
what else has the caliper in front of the axle? the car in the spy pics. also interesting is the fact that the caliper is canted slightly. it doesnt sit exactly in the 3 o'clock position. its like between 2 and 3 o'clock. and this goes for both the concept AND the spy car. hmmm....
what does all of this mean? most likely, the FT II concept is using a close to production hub, with 5x100 PCD. this isnt new as the earliest spy cars wore the forester sti wheels which are 5x100. wheel choices are going to SUCK compared to 5x114.3... the good news? those brembos look quite unique and may possibly be production spec. perhaps as an option as the spy car doesnt have brembos...
