I've bought rust check in a can and sprayed that shit on all the things that usually rust out (bolts, suspension component, sway bar end links(IMPORTANT!) etc...) under the car and in the engine comparment.

I have YET to see a car rust on the actual underbody, they rust from inside out so it's pointless in my opinion unless you go with the kind that shoots from the inside out of the panels... even then, it will take 7+ years to get any problem.

EDIT: I had a 2002 civic SI that was rust proofed with that gunky stuff, it was UNREMOVABLE, the entire engine bay looked like shit! It would have taken hours for me to remove all of it, since this, I will rust proof my cars myself.
