Now imagine how many people raced off to Toyota to test drive, consider what that engine has been through before having chance to run in 2000km before you can push the car, according to Toyota.
Not to forget that this is a new car out for 6 months, any major problem have yet to be identified. Take the oil issue for one.....
Stick to new, wait it out, there is no real saving going second hand yet.

The first one I test drove at Empire Road - the dealer (older man too) took me out first and caned the poor thing (powershifting aggressively...) with only 60km on the clock - judging by my age I think he was worried about my driving. I then drove it in a very civilized manner as I knew the car could perform, I was interested in how it behaved on a daily basis, could I double de-clutch smoothly (old habits die hard) was it difficult to drive etc. Then we got back to empire road and I took it up to about 6500rpm in 1st and 2nd. I was convinced...
I fear how these cars were treated prior to delivery - this was on the launch weekend!
