You do know that VAG-COM is free software, but requires a legit ross tech cable (or a fake cable and cracked software like you'll find on ebay) to work, right?
Just because it has the same plugs on both ends doesn't mean what's inside is anything close to the same.
Both cables have a board inside that has the hardware encryption/decryption built in, and is unique to the software it's designed for.
