The first few digits probably have something different to I.D. Subaru vs Scion, but I thought they are all ZN6 or whatever the model desigation is and therefore I also thought the last digits should tell us your number in sequence regardless of brand.
I'm thinking that as far as production goes, these cars are likely all treated as the same type vehicle in Subaru production except for the options. That includes different brands, specs for different markets, etc. Thats what a "build sheet" is for.
If that is so, the latest serial numbers could tell us the total number of ZN6's produced to that date.
