My rear window fogged up every time I drove the car. And to some extent the front window. I was getting a good amount of moisture in the cabin when it was rather damp outside. I went out and bought a couple of rubber gromits from an auto parts store, slapped them in and went for a drive in the pouring rain.

I didn't have to use my rear defroster at all and only had to pop on the front defroster once.

If it's really true that water is getting into the car this way, and that water can collect on top of the strut mount like that, I could see this being a huge problem down the road. If road salt gets constantly stuck up there year after year then I could see the shock towers rusting out over time.
