I never really believed the Silvia project was ever cancelled just merely put on hold due to the economic downturn. The car was supposedly really far along in the development process so it's no surprise that they will be able to quickly dust it off and bring it to market if the FT-86 is the sales hit that we all think it will be.
Those other ones are just pipe dreams though that probably wouldn't make it to market until around the time of the mid cycle refresh for the FT-86. Does VW even have a small RWD platform? Would Kia use a version of the RWD Genesis platform because Hyundai tried that and their coupe is huge/overweight compared to the target specs of the FT.
The only other company, besides Nissan, that I think could realistically offer a similar size/configured vehicle to the FT-86 whithin the same timeframe is Mazda. They have a new miata coming out around the same time and could relatively easily pull a porsche move, ala cayman, and offer a slightly different coupe version of their roadster. That will never happen though.
