I got it! While the Cosworth YB is a fairly exotic and expensive engine with tough to find components, Ford did employ another high performance I4: Ford 1.6l Kent Engine (aka. Lotus Twin Cam). This particular engine has been used since 1962 in a number of high performance vehicles including Caterham Super Sevens and Formula Fords. The best part is that you can still purchase Kent 1.6l blocks, internals, and performance components from a number of places!
