Don't argue. Just nicely say that you think they can give you a little more for your car, or throw some options on the car your buying to balance things out. I came within a few hundred dollars of getting 'Excellent' trade-in from KBB/Nada on my trade and there were no mark ups on the BRZ, aside from the stupid fees. I have come to learn that you have to play nice and be professional about the whole deal or else they'll end up treating you the same way as you treat them.
Oh, and as others have said, if you don't buy it, don't worry, the next guy definitely will. My dealer told me the exact same thing. In fact, he told me that they have not been able to keep a BRZ on their lot for more than a week. I supposedly got the last BRZ in September and they did not receive any until mid-late November. And go figure, they added options to it and marked up the value on the car. Guarantee you someone will buy that car too without talking them down.
