And people can always do something about that. I went with a different dealership and had my car shipped. Same color and transmission, but with a nicer interior. Sure I didn't get the same deal, but I didn't pay MSRP and I had my car WAY before the original dealership could even make projections about the car I ordered. I don't care what deal I'm getting; ordered a car in March and being told every other week since August that it'll be here "at the end of THIS month" is horseshit. Recently saw them selling it, too...lawl.

I understand that and everything, but a dealer near me has the exact trim level of car the person I quoted earlier does, a SWP LTD AT. Wether it includes any of the things like homelink, chrome trim piece, e.t.c. I don't know. So why does that non owner car get sent here instead of someone who requested that trim level, color, and transmission?
The pre-orders shouldn't HAVE to look elsewhere to get the car they want. The car that will be sitting in the dealer lot near me should've gone to the pre-order customer instead.
I understand it as well, since I did go elsewhere to get mine. I wasn't picky on color, so I was able to get a BRZ before the dealer thought they would get it. THey had originally told me in June that it would be there sometime between then and November, with November being the latest and most unlikely projection. They sent me an e-mail recently saying it would finally be there on 11/5/12 if I was still interested.
