Me too about the 250,000 km, only I'd rather it be in mi.
The way I look at it is, if a big item (tranny, engine) breaks, my reaction will be "Uh oh, need a built motor" or "uh oh, need a hardened tranny/dogbox."
I hope that doesn't have to happen, but when modifying a car in this manner, you have to at least acknowledge the non-zero possibility.
