Has anyone gotten the Syms or Gruppe M intakes yet? I would love to own either. I might not go FI for a long time because of warranty so I might get either of them.
The Syms looks really nice and shows very good gains compared to the other intakes on the market right now. I like it because it keeps the stock air box and you can use your own drop in filter and change your oem tubing to a silicone tubing. Like a poster said above all 3 can be done to compliment each other.
Looks like it would be a very good set up for even more gains. The SYMS site even says that more power can be added if you change other things like the air filter. This looks like it could probably get around 10-13 WHP possibly even more if WORKS drop in is what they claim to be. I would be happy with just 10-15 with all 3 items. So far no intake looks like its worth buying domestically. Maybe the Perrin when its out and just like the Perrin this probably would even do better with a tune.
The Max racing duct also looks nice too. This would be a similar set up as the Max racing IMO people in that thread who say it wouldnt do much are probably people who have never owned an S2K or any other car that used similar systems. Especially the S2K which had some of the best intakes on that car being similar set ups like this.
I would love to see an independent party dyno if anyone has it. If some has gotten and can please give a review of it I would much appreciate it. I am very curious on how the extra 300 dollar sound generator part sounds like or does also. I am debating if I should order that part or save 300 for the shipping instead.
Looks like the Gruppe M collaboration just gets a little more then the SYM Racing Intake, not surprising since it catches more air. But costing about a grand more also to purchase. If I had to choose I would go with the SYMS that is about the most I would ever spend on a part like that especially since if you drop 2 g's on a Gruppe M you might as well go Forced Induction. As much as I like it I dont think I would ever get my self to spend 2 grand on an intake like that even though it looks very nice.
EDIT:
I emailed the site that the posted above provided and asked what kind of gains they saw from it here is what they replied with.

I would much rather wait for Perrin to come out with a Header. I cant tell by the translation if they say that they include a CAT in the headers. Can anyone clarify?
