I flashed to the latest tune v108b4 and RR-11034 today so I thought I would give a bit of feedback.
First thing I noticed was the idle changes. Before if a/c or defrost were turned on the idle would immediately drop to 500-550 rpms and bounce back to 900-1100 rpm, then the cycle would repeat. With the new base flash used in v108b4 if the idle jumps for any reason (i.e. a/c, defrost or whatever) the rpms jump a bit 900-1000 then stay absolutely steady at 800.
Standing starts were a bit of a pain in my FR-S especially when it was on the stock ECU. I was used to driving higher torque sports cars that didn't bog as much as the FR-S any had to slow the clutch release to avoid the lurch the car seems to have at low RPMs. Even with a tune I had to be sure I was above 2500 and eased the clutch before I opened up the throttle. There is a major change to the power down low with this tune. While I was driving around to let the new map settle. I did my usual quick start and instead of a gradual build up of torque and speed, it snarled and spun the tires. I anticipated a lurch once the tires grabbed and TC kicked in but it didn't. It powered on. This was without the RR turned to the new TC. Once I had 30+ miles on the new flash I took it out on the freeway to see how the whole RPM range felt and noticed it does feel like opens up a bit more above 6000 rpm.
Now on to the RR. I have been driving rwd for many years with cars and trucks that had plenty of HP/TQ. For driving in winter I have developed a keen sense for throttle control to keep me pointed forward and off lamp posts and such. This TC thing is new to me and I have been abusing the heck out of it in my FR-S this winter. I took my FR-S out to a traffic free industrial area that still had a large amount of snow and ice on the road and did a side by side comparasion of the RR to our stock TC. Accelerating from a stop or around corners with the RR, traction will break and let you spin but doesn't kick in as agressively as the stock TC. It isn't as invasive as the stock TC but I can see the stock settings are tuned with the complete idiot in mind.
