+1 million A shame there aren't more of us; we could hold our own meets

That said, the guys at motorsports events seem to have a different outlook and for them it's all about the shared interest no matter a person's gender. The only time I've heard it even mentioned was instructors telling me they prefer instructing women because we don't have ego issues like the guys do and pay better attention to what the instructors tell us.

Yep; announcing it is pretty much e-suicide. Some car forums even have a warning in their welcome message when you sign up.

And yet they ain't got nothing on the XYs on some of the other car forums. One of the reasons I've stuck around here is that people generally are friendly (the mods must be doing something right - big thanks! ).
