I thought the exhaust was quieter after a turbo because of the energy that's been removed to drive it?

3 forms of energy come out of the tail pipe. Heat, sound and pressure.
The turbine uses the energy from the pressure and absorbs a lot of heat, so it would seem logical that the sound at the tail pipe would reflect those losses.
