Simple solution: Plastidip
People plastidip their winter rims all the time up here and make it through the entire season without issues. And even if you do manage to chip a bit of the paint off (very rare occurrence) you can just respray the wheel in minutes. There's also minimal prep needed - no need to mask anything off as the paint will literally peel off the surfaces you dont want paint on (tires, valve stem cover).
You said it was your winter setup so it's all up to you how much time/money you want to dedicate to the project. I've used every type of paint sold in stores (spray paint) to paint rims and have no issues with heat from the brakes or debris destroying the finish.
That being said - the most expensive/durable option is always going to be Powder Coating. Personally, I wouldn't bother for winter rims but if you got the coin and plan to keep the XXR's for another 5 years this may be your best option over all.
