You should fit fine with those. I'm running 225/45/17s on a set of 05 Legacy GT 17x7 +55. No fitment issues. My summer wheels/tires are 225/45/17 on 17x8.5 +43 Advans. Also no issues.
Although they're both 45 series tires, that 45 is a percentage of the width, so when the width increases from stock with the same 45 series sidewall, the sidewall height actually changes a bit and it will have a larger overall diameter. Stock tire sidewall is 45% of 215mm while these tires will have a sidewall that is 45% of 225.

If you ever want to see the difference the width will make in the overall diameter you can go to tirerack and find a given tire and then click on specs. It will show the overall diameter of the tire and various other sizes of that tire for you to compare. Good information to have if you're concerned with maintaining the gearing the car currently has. A larger overall diameter might make the car feel a little slower but you'd probably get slightly better highway mileage at the same speed.
