I did too but I forked over 1400 for a compact pickup to bomb around in from Dec to Apr.

The salt and corrosion did not scare me away,it was the potential of commuting in 6-12 inches of snow for a few months.Been there,done that,not worth it IMO.I live in a fairly large urban area that does not see plow trucks early enough.
