Ok since the "You're only 18" argument has been beat to death, here's my thoughts.
The BRZ/FRS looks incredible. The Veloster also is not bad.
Insurance on the Veloster should be cheaper because of the 3rd door and hatch back.
Straight line performance should be similar. Cornering would be better in the BRZ for an experienced driver, but the FWD will probably be safer at the limits. This is why insurance companies like FWD cars. They tend to understeer vs oversteer in RWD cars.
Economy and maintenance issues should be minimal, though based on previous ownership of a Subaru I would opt for the Toyota FRS over the BRZ. I've never dealt with Hyundai for dealership stuff, but a friend of mine has been pretty impressed with their service even on his late model Tibouron.
