To pass a state inspection the windows must be 25% or lighter. The only windows inspectable are right and left of the driver and the front windshield above the AS1 line. The rear windows can be as dark as you want.
I will say that IN MY OPINION dark tint can make you a great target to get pulled over. My car is loud and flashy enough I do not need to give them another reason to pull me over for some BS profiling reason. I've had the "your tag light was out", or the "you didnt signal 200ft before that turn"; In combination with Im blind as a bat I need to see at night. lol
