I guess I hadn't considered it that way... Looking at what I have experience in, rather than how much experience I have overall.
Also, as a side note, while on the subject of the general population of America not knowing how to drive- Everyone should know how to drive a stick shift. It's ridiculous the number of people here who have no idea. Although it makes a good excuse for telling people no, who want to drive my car
