I cross shopped the FR-S and the WRX. The relative disadvantages of the RWD coupe weren't a huge issue (single, living in Southern California), but I did like that the WRX had more power. I ended up buying the FR-S because I wanted to try the RWD thing and to have a different experience. If the deals I was offered had been a little different, the greater power in the WRX could have easily swayed me in that direction. Doesn't mean it was the only thing I was looking at.
