Well you could teach her after you've learned Seriously, though, as others have said with this car you really can't go wrong either way and all in all I think you've made a good choice. I have two nephews around your age and both have AT cars (paid for by their parents, ahem). They are both responsible drivers but observing them I can see advantages to driving AT first for a while, then learning manual further down the road after the basics have really been mastered and practiced. Also, kudos to your mom for the excellent parenting. She is both letting you have the car you want while simultaneously creating a situation where you can learn about money management with a safety net in case you make mistakes
