Buying a sports car is almost never a rational purchase and almost always an emotional purchase. You don't buy a sports car for practical reasons -- i.e. room in the back, trunk space, storage, etc. And no matter how much you rationalize... in the end you will make an emotional decision. That's what I told myself: my current car is practically new (low miles), runs fine, is fuel efficient, reliable, roomy, trunk space, etc. etc. Why would I want another car? But when I saw the 86 for first time at the dealership...rationality went out the window. Fortunately, I could afford to be irrational. In the end, I kept the Corolla for all the practical reasons and I went for a BRZ for just one reason... driving excitement.
