IMO...
The key benefit of the MS3 is the size, you have a lot more space if you have a family, and/or do a lot of activities where you need to transport gear (sports, etc). It's also a much easier car to drive if your wife or significant other doesn't get the value of a true rwd sports car. These reasons motivated a friend of mine to go with the MS3- and tbh I cant really fault him for the logic as he has 2 kids and lets be honest, if you think the FRS/BRZ is a good family vehicle you're delusional.
I can't really speak on the genesis as I never actually gave it a "serious" look. Although, i was giving it some consideration before the 86 was production ready. The MS3 has a lot of potential in terms of power if you want to go fast, but it also has pretty nasty torque steer even with stock power levels (which can be very annoying if you're used to rwd).
It really is more of a question of FRS vs BRZ vs Genesis imo. And a lot of the deciding factors will be personal taste, there's no set x is better than y argument. It depends how much you value power(genesis), value(frs), feel(frs/brz), etc.
I wish i could have got the BRZ, but a few thousand dollars more really was a deal breaker for me. My mentality was i'd rather spend the difference getting aftermarket stuff (which is inevitable in any car i own)- and that's how i justified the purchase to the wife lol. Also, we already have a 4d yaris which is our "functional" car so the size of the ms3 didn't really add value to us- but if we could only have 1 car, it wouldn't be a "2 seater".
