The only vehicle they need to bring up to speed now is the Forester with it's archaic 4spd automatic, at a max of 27mpg and bump the 3.6R's economy up, or drop back down to a 3.0 with CVT or something. I actually kinda hope the new WRX/STi is a 2.0L turbo like the Japanese cars have been all along. With direct injection and turbo they could finally get out of the low 20's for fuel economy.

speaking as a guy who has driven Subaru's entire fleet of newer cars, THIS. Holy crap, the Forester gearbox is awful. Even with a manual gearbox it was still kind of
but I don't care for the CVTs either

do like me a manual legacy though
