Good decision. 79 miles may be a drop in the bucket, but you can put a lot of abuse on the car within those 79 miles. Any abuse that you heap on your own car, after you get it brand new, is something that you can measure and keep track of...but 70+ miles of test driving is unquantifiable in terms of potential abuse to the car.
As for redline testing from the factory, they do that to a lot of other cars... if not ALL cars, don't they? Even expensive cars like the R8 have their engines tested until the exhaust glows red hot, running at redline for a good amount of time. That's okay, factory testing to redline is fine with me. It's the clutch dumping, gear grinding, drift-wannabe test drivers that would concern me.
