Buying this car in this automatic strikes me as entirely missing the point of what the car is all about.

The FRZ/BRZ/86 is SLOW. It's a sports car because it creates an involving driving experience. Getting the manual has nothing to do with being a couple of tenths quicker, and everything to do with a more involved experience. Getting the car with an automatic completely defeats the point of owning the car, imo.
