I bigger/longer resonator plus a cat will definitely quiet down the system.

A spun cat, might help... something like this:

or

MagnaFlow Universal Spun Catalytic Converters - Universal Fitment : Amazon.com : Automotive

those could make things/life easier.
good luck,

I've been mainly trying to figure out what my options are on the resonator front. As I've only jackstands, I'm a bit lazy to get under there and measure out the exact length of the straight portion of the midpipe, but depending on that length, I'm looking at the following resonators:

Thrush's 28" (Model 24214)
or
LCEngineering's 24" (without inlet/outlet)
or
LCEngineering's 18" (without inlet/outlet)

I'm hesitant to go the secondary cat route mainly because I'm not sure about how much quieter the cat would actually make the car. Cats are not actually designed to make things quieter (it's a by-product of the air restriction they impose), not to mention 3-5 times more expensive than the far-bigger resonators.

While I have no first-hand experience with any of the above 3, as long as they actually fit, I'm assuming the increased length will result in far superior drone reduction and volume reduction.
