Same scenario with a nice used evo 7, 8, or 9. To make a tC as quick as a bolt on tuned evo would take so much money. In fact it would be almost impossible with any budget to make a tC as quick as a nicely built evo.

No it wouldn't. 8lbs of boost on a tC would walk an Evo, STI, SRT-4, S2k, 350z..etc. There is a vid of a tC at 8-9psi walking past an Evo 9 MR. Same tC blowing the doors off a stock STI. Then that STI went home, bought a tune and added a bolt-on or two and then ran the same tC (unchanged on boost setting 8-9psi) and the STI beat the tC like 4 out of 6 races. The other two, the tC tied with it.

At 8psi a tC makes between 280-300whp/300wtq depending on the dyno.

And don't start talking about getting used cars to beat the price point...of building a NEW tC. The 2005 tC isn't new any more either and a used SRT-4 ACR is probably still more expensive than a used tC and tossing a bolt-on turbo setup.

Now I'm not stating it's a better car than an Evo, STI, S2k...or whatever. Just saying it's not as slow as you think it is.
