Those do no good when you turn them off. And judging by the gung-ho mentality of late teens or young twentysomethings, especially if they decide they want to race and "traction control makes me slower," that's what happens a lot. I'm not saying RWD is inherently more dangerous or anything, but most people who have lived with FWD forever have no idea what snap oversteer is. Those of us that learned in RWD when that's what was available also haven't been hand-held like FWD tends to do, to some extent, as well.
I hope all of the people recover well and learn from it.
And I hope the guys who ditched them at the scene realize that karma's a bitch. Sure they might have gotten in trouble, but man up and take responsibility. Just shows how immature all those involved were.
