While the car is "designed" by both Subaru and Toyota, Subaru is responsible for almost all of the engineering in the car. I did some more searching. Looks like there are several cutters designed to cut through these things, but not all. Older models will have a problem. Explains why there are so many older cutters out there on govt auction sites.

I'd hope that standards would catch up with modern construction. That's just how things should progress. I'm happy. Hopefully, I still have a boron steel rod over my noggin. I would love to see a picture of a BRZ pillar sliced open.
