To make more noise. Old school V-8 with headers trick... if you ran the washers it was louder, more like a loud exhaust leak......gains nothing, except the looks of the man every time you go by them.
Gonna sound like a ricer....maybe gas yourself and set the back end on fire. Maybe you could do some drifting with the back end in flames, now that'd be cool...
